Salomon's roots in outdoor sports go all the way back to 1947, when the fledgling company adapted their metalworking equipment to make edges and binding for skis. Salomon's interest in adventure sports expanded into areas like snowboarding, climbing, and hiking. In 2001, Salomon introduced their first trail running shoe, kickstarting the brand's current status as a preeminent name in trail running performance footwear.
